The senator representing Adamawa north senatorial district, Elisha Abba, has been released by the Nigeria Police on bail.
Abbo was released after his detention and the Federal Capital Territory Police command following allegation of assault on a nursing mother in an adult shop in Abuja.
PRNigeria reports that Abbo was released on bail on Friday, July 5, morning after a 24-hours detention at the FCT Police command.
It was also gathered that Abbo presented himself to the Police for investigation into the incident which has raised public outrage nationwide and beyond.

Also, sources within the Police said at first the embattled senator was not granted bail after answering questions asked by Police.
The source said Abbo was only granted bail because the lady he physically assaulted was not available to testify and give her own side of the story.
According to the source, the lady allegedly assaulted by Senator Abbo travelled out of Abuja to attend a burial ceremony of a close family relation.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Abbo had wept while apologising to the general public, Nigerian women and the lady whom he assaulted at a shop with the FCT.
The senator noting that the incident occurred long along before he became a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria said he only went to the shop because his sister was assaulted there.
